AND as time ran out on the clock Wednesday, February 6th, the last of the Filing Department’s paper billing records was entered into Gould’s new paperless system (MedForce), completing the largest stage of the CONVERSION MASTER PLAN. No more lines in the file room - The end to “Who was the doctor? - The last of the
emergency requests.
So… here’s a play by play.
Coach Shaffer, thinking over the best strategy - the best course of action, calls his Assistant Coach, Jill. After a few minutes they agree. “Team Play”, that’s right, with a fresh new team to get the job done.
Christie, Jennie, Teresa, Erica, Tony, Tess, Stacy, Cindy and Susan are brought into a huddle. Tom & Jill, with expert consultant, Tonya waiting on the sidelines, described the final plan, “Put everything you have into one more final push, DON’T STOP until you see the black marble counter of your desk! We know all of you are up to the challenge. Oh, and Jennie, Teresa, and Cindy -- sorry but we need you to hold down the fort. You’ll need to field calls – someone has to do it – and you’re it. “
With a show of team work never seen before, using untapped skills, and a minor amount of help from Tonya, they plodded through the mountain of paperwork handed off to them. All in all over 20,500 records were entered and sorted by the end of the second day.So what’s next? Lonely file clerks? Maybe… but quicker, more efficient billing and claims submissions for sure.
