Patient Rights and Responsibilities

The patient has the right:

  1. to refuse delivery of any and all equipment.
  2. to prompt delivery and to be fully informed on the use, and care of all Gould’s Discount Medical’s equipment in his home.
  3. to expect that all information will be kept in strictest confidence.
  4. to expect all equipment to be clean and in good repair.
  5. to have any questions answered promptly, correctly and courteously.
  6. to be informed of all options if the need to transfer care arises.
  7. to expect a resolution to any problem or complaint.
  8. to know that if he/she is found unresponsive, Gould's Discount Medical's policy is for staff to call 911 for emergency medical intervention.
  9. to express dissatisfaction and suggest changes without coercion, discrimination, reprisal or unreasonable interruption in service.


The patient has the responsibility:

  1. to inform Gould's Discount Medical of any change in a prescription.
  2. to follow instruction in care and use of all equipment.
  3. to keep Gould's Discount Medical informed of any change in address, doctor, insurance carrier, prescription.
  4. to order supplies or refills on a timely basis to accommodate reasonable delivery.
  5. to have someone at home on the day delivery is scheduled.
  6. to pay all invoices not covered by insurance.
